Tonio Le Febre will speak and discuss his time with the levee mural and stories from his collection. Complimentary snacks and drinks will be available.
Tonio Le Febre, a native of Pueblo, Colorado, began creating serious art in the late 1980’s as a recent high school graduate. His early works included silver jewelry, clay sculpture, and graphite drawings. In 1991, LeFebre designed and completed his first mural on the Arkansas River levee in downtown Pueblo, Colorado. A simplified Native American profile portrait. He later completed two more murals on that original levee through the late 1990’s. In 2023, Tonio once again returned to the levee to paint. His completed piece entitled “From Within” depicts a comparative journey of ancestral and contemporary Native Americans. Currently, LeFebre continues his artistry in silver jewelry, graphite drawings, and acrylic paintings. His works can be viewed at toniolefebre.com.
