Description

Join us for a hilarious evening at the Sangre de Cristo Arts & Conference Center! On Saturday, March 15th, we're hosting a comedy night fundraiser to replace our theater curtains, featuring Side Splitting Ent. stand-up comedians Fredy Tello and Ricky Ramos. The laughter begins at 8PM, with doors and the bar opening at 7PM and staying open throughout the show. Tickets are $20, with a special rate of $18 for members. 6PM is the reception for Rick Espinoza's exhibit: Mi Razon de Ser at the Helen Thatcher White Regional Gallery. This event is FREE to attend for members and the public, and you get to meet Rick Espinoza before the comedy event. Come say hi to Rick Espinoza!
Ricky Ramos Bio:
Ricky Ramos is a remarkable figure who has transformed his life journey into a source of inspiration and laughter. A Colorado native hailing from Denver, Ricky's path has been one of resilience and reinvention. Overcoming challenges such as gang involvement, drug addiction, and incarceration, he has emerged not only as a devoted family man but also as a passionate youth advocate, using his story to uplift and motivate others.
As a nationally touring comedian, Ricky's dynamic performances have graced stages like Punch Line Philly, Denver Comedy Works, Denver Improv, and The Comedy Fort (where he recently placed 3rd in The Fort's Funniest). He has opened and featured for comedy icons including Joey Medina, Martin Moreno, Mark Viera, and Francisco Ramos. His talents have also shone at prestigious festivals like the Sixth City and Boulder Comedy Festival, and he's even headlined at the University of Wyoming.
Ricky is a trailblazer in the Denver Latino Comedy Scene, founding the city's first bilingual comedy room and festival, Vatos Locos, which celebrates the richness of cultural humor. His work has garnered recognition on platforms such as Telemundo and 9News during Hispanic Heritage Month.
In addition to comedy, Ricky has made a mark as a concert host for artists like Caskey, King Iso, Futuristic, and Krizz Kaliko. His ability to connect with diverse audiences and his commitment to fostering community through humor and advocacy solidify his role as a powerful voice and a cornerstone of Denver's cultural landscape.
Fredy Tello (El Chido One) – Latino Comedian on the Rise
Fredy Tello, also known as El Chido One, is a rising Latino comedian making waves in the Denver comedy scene. With a unique style that blends cultural humor, broken English, and an ability to see beyond color, he delivers laughs that resonate with diverse audiences.
Fredy has had the honor of opening for some of the most prominent Latino comedians and headlining at major comedy festivals. When he's not on stage, you can find him enjoying a craft beer at one of Colorado’s many renowned breweries.
