Description

 

In this class students will make functional clay pieces using hand-building techniques and will learn a variety of decorative techniques, such as sgraffito, underglazing, and glazing, that can be used on sculptural projects as well. The instructor welcomes ideas for projects suggested by students.

These are 2-session classes offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am-12:30pm. 

Tuesdays will be used to build the ceramic project while Thursday will be used to refine and decorate the project using a variety of techniques. 

Students who need extra time are welcome to finish working on their projects or practice during the remainder of Open Studio time at the end of each class, if desired. Open studio closes at 2pm on class days.

All materials included in class cost. These classes are for all levels, no clay experience necessary. Our instructor can help tailor the level of instruction to artists of all skill levels from beginner to advanced. Students who are interested in taking classes but may not be available on these days or times, or who learn better in one-on-one settings are welcome to reach out to us to schedule Private Lessons with one of our instructors.
