Instructor: Nell Trask
Suggested Age: 16yrs +
Class:$100*

This class is for all levels, no experience working with glass required. Students will complete a glass mosaic artwork which is perfect for indoor display! This design will utilize a repurposed picture frame as the base for building and grouting your very own glass mosaic. Students will have plenty of time to create their mosaic in class by 1:30pm and let it dry for an hour while they enjoy a lunch break.   If students do not finish in time to allow the piece to dry for a full hour they won't be able to grout it during the class.  Students can either take the grout home to apply it the following day or come to a Tuesday Intermediate Glass Workshop to grout their mosaic with guidance from the instructor.

This class is suitable for adults, seniors, and teens over 16 years of age. Materials and Tools information below. N95 Mask is recommended for safety.

Students are encouraged to bring a beverage and a snack or lunch when classes interfere with their normal eating times. There is a drinking fountain in the hall, but there are no vending machines on site.

MATERIALS & TOOLS:

Due to the nature of this class, at brief periods of time students may be working with glass powders and grout. This being the case, we ask students to bring an N-95 mask for safety. This mask will be worn while handling the glass powders and isn’t required to be worn for the whole class. The studio will have a limited number of respirators available for class use, however, if you are able to bring a personal safety mask, this would be recommended. Other than personal safety masks, all materials and tools will be provided by the Instructor, Nell Trask, or by the Arts Center.

NO FIRING  REQUIRED:

This project is finished in class and available for the student to take it with them at the end of class.
